Debian PPC, TFTP, Yaboot on G3 iMac (tray loading).

I'm trying to install Debian PPC on my G3, tray loading iMac, over
TFTP. I've managed to get myself to the Yaboot prompt, where I choose
"install". The files appear to start transferring, updates scrolling
up the screen as it goes, and after a long-ass time I get the output:

    method 'load' failed 00000900
    Can't read Elf e_ident/e_type/e_machine info

 and I then get thrown back to the "boot:" prompt. Anybody got any
idea what's happening here?
