[Quickcall] qcfrob.py works with some applications, but not others

At the moment I'm on a Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty laptop listening to the
last.fm client qcfrob.py client and the quick call is working just
fine.  But if I try to listen to a web based stream.  It plays on the
built in speakers, at very low volume.

There's probably a setting somewhere that I need to tweak.  Any ideas?
