May I know why IPMI/IPMB is not preferred by IBM ?
Any concern about it ?

There is IPMB support if you wanted to use IPMI for this:

MC <-> MC in OpenBMC is something IBM will devote resources to eventually.   
But not in the near future.  We’d probably be looking at something other than IPMI/IPMB for that.  How do you think it should work?
