Dwarf Error: mangled line number section

Hello,

Has anyone faced
"/usr/bin/ld: Dwarf Error: mangled line number section (bad file
number)." Error.  I saw a bug fix for HP 11 with this error message.
Does it apply for Linux power-pc. I am using
"Linux version 2.4.21-9.EL (bhcompile at cure81.devel.redhat.com) (gcc
version 3.2.3 20030502 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.3-26)) #1 SMP Thu Jan 8
16:57:25 EST 2004"
