CVS question

I have I feeling this is a really basic question, perhaps more appropriate
for the user list, but being a cvs question, I thought you guys would be in
the know.

I was trying to download the source for the 2.2.10 kernel so I could try
the patch to the atyfb driver Tim Seufert (thanks tim!) so I tried to get
it from CVS at cvs.on.openprojects.net. I reckoned it wouldn't be very
hard, and it wasn't. It was easy to get the latest source, but I can't
figure out how to get the 2.2.10 version. I thought the command:

cvs -z3 checkout -r2.2.10 linux

would do the trick, but it doesn't work. I seem to be using the -r switch
incorrectly, but I don't know which switch to use. I feel like I'm missing
something obvious, so please reply privately if this is a silly question,
to avoid list clutter. Thanks.
