Gray Mac Quick Cam and Linux PPC?

I tried to get the specs awhile ago, but at the time I could only get
the B&W Mac QuickCam, the B&W and Color PC (Parallel) QuickCams.  
Also, it involves using the serial controller in synchronous mode, and
I didn't have time to dig up docs on how to do that.  I know you used
to be able to write to connectix to get the specs, but I'm not sure
now that it's owned by USR.

  anyone know if it is possible to get a mac quick cam working under linux
ppc?  if it has not been done anyone know if the serial format is
published?
