Hello,
I am using a home made board without hard drive. I know that
Dan Malek released a version 2.2.0pre7 of Linux containing modifs to
make it run on several MPC860 based boards, of which the FADS860 board.

I think, but i am not sure that since Linux 2.2.4, these modifications have
been inserted in the Linux main tree.

Anyway i can give you the old archive embedded-2.2p7.tar.gz if you have
a ftp server available ...
