thanks, but i'm afraid i need a little more info... so far i've just built
and installed kernels the beginners' way:
make, make modules_install, make install on Fedora 9.

now i have an image. what about initrd and modules?
here's the yaboot.conf entry that i'm normally using:

image=/vmlinux-2.6.29-rc3-02580-gb0bbe29
        label=2.6.29-rc3-02580-gb0bbe29
        read-only.
        initrd=/initrd-2.6.29-rc3-02580-gb0bbe29.img:
        append="rhgb quiet root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00"

how would i have to change it for the image?
