problem trying to bitbake obmc-phosphor-image

Hi,
I tried to follow instruction in https://github.com/openbmc/openbmc/
I get two problems:

  1.  When trying to run bitbake  in a schroot trusty (ubuntu 14.04) I'm getting that python version is too old. Need python >=3.5 and available max python 3.4 for that ububtu version...
  2.  I tried to do the build in ububtu18.04 and then it proceeded until stopped with some timeout accessing github. (manually I manage to access this github repo)
