Anyway, my patch is wrong (even if I said the exact opposite earlier :).
Depending the patch version, the encoding information is either missing
or specified as UTF-8. Both case are wrong.

The patch encoding would be ISO-8859-1 which is the current encoding for
the MAINTAINERS file (and hopefully for the whole source repository).
