[Question] Some issues with openbmc

hi all:
I'm a beginner of openbmc. I've encountered some problems and felt quite confused while getting familiar with the code. I haven't found the official documentation yet. Could you please help me solve them?
Question 1: Why are the layers of openbmc directly copied instead of being managed using git submodules or repo
Question 2: Why is the Release Content of openbmc only 2.10? What about the subsequent version descriptions? Is it still under maintenance?
Question 3: Why does the poky used in the openbmc master branch use the walnascar branch? This is not an lts branch either.
