2019 OCP Global Summit - Call for Participation
The 2019 OCP Global Summit<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__opencompute.us9.list-2Dmanage.com_track_click-3Fu-3Dc9a5bdc7b1663512a05d5cd7b-26id-3D04dd9cdba5-26e-3Dd94b622393&d=DwMFaQ&c=5VD0RTtNlTh3ycd41b3MUw&r=D804Bb_g8FkIaCjjb_rg7A&m=ASBUzSiOrig8A0POdoptGeVs9_XgUf9EUnGCQP6gWBc&s=QTA8EJ_f3-7QSZMxUkWbeSmdaboe49Ri46oMonggC6c&e=> will be held on March 14-15 at the San Jose Convention Center.
With registration opening on November 5, we are very excited to kick off this global event with our Call for Participation. OCP has grown significantly in the past few years and our events have been more interactive than ever before. There are many new projects and collaborations with other open organizations, across geographies and across different market segments.
If you are using OCP solutions in your infrastructure, if your software is running on OCP gear or if you are building products based on open specifications, we want to hear about it! Share your experiences, your challenges, your unique approach to OCP. If you are looking to adopt OCP, if you are willing to explore OCP solutions in your company or if you are interested in becoming a solution provider for OCP products or facilities, this is the conference for you.
We are looking for these types of experiences and subject matter expertise to build our Summit schedule. Our Engineering Workshops run in parallel tracks during our event. Each track is related to our current projects, sub-projects or initiatives. To learn about our projects and respective sub-projects, please click here<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__opencompute.us9.list-2Dmanage.com_track_click-3Fu-3Dc9a5bdc7b1663512a05d5cd7b-26id-3D3e3aae2122-26e-3Dd94b622393&d=DwMFaQ&c=5VD0RTtNlTh3ycd41b3MUw&r=D804Bb_g8FkIaCjjb_rg7A&m=ASBUzSiOrig8A0POdoptGeVs9_XgUf9EUnGCQP6gWBc&s=40FByIN5acP73qkmIGvahPkkGQg_LD7WMrlVRQQaRkc&e=>. Our workshop agendas are made up of OCP product presentations, new OCP tools or software, case studies or white papers utilizing OCP solutions, relevant initiatives and demos of OCP applications.
This is your opportunity to shine and present your know-how and expertise. Please join us and share with our community during this 2 day information-packed Global Summit. Consume, Collaborate and Contribute to the OCP Community!
If you are interested in presenting your expertise, please take a look at the criteria for submission below. It is imperative that you follow these guidelines in order to get your abstract accepted.
Tell your OCP story! This is your opportunity to announce new OCP-related products, share your organization’s open source contributions in data center or cloud computing technologies, or talk about the work your company is doing with OCP or across related open source communities. All of these talks must be relevant to the OCP Community.
Engineering Workshop Sessions
Each of the below OCP chartered projects may hold a workshop where new technologies are shared and community related ideas and concepts are discussed. The workshops are ideal forums to discuss topics and contributions introduced during a keynote or on the showroom floor.
2019 Global Summit Workshop Sessions*
Workshop Scope & Example Content
Best practices for efficient design and operations of data centers, including colo facilities and modular data centers.
Creation, support, and adoption of OCP PROFILES which establish management standards and recommendations for all open source hardware products. These standard & recommendations should leverage standards and work streams such as Redfish (DTMF) & Swordfish (SNIA).
HW Management - openRMC
New Rack Management Controller (RMC) project to create an open source software stack providing aggregation and management of all connected devices in the rack, and provide a RESTful, GUI and CL interface.
High Performance Computing
A community to open source high performance compute, AI, ML, nad low latency computing hardware, embedded firmware, and the management of that hardware.
Open sourced leaf and spine switchgear, access layer hardware (including wireless), disaggregation of the hardware and innovation with network processing.
OCP open source software for switchgear (e.g. ONIE, SONiC, ONL) and collaboration opportunities with other network focused software projects (e.g. Linux Foundation sub-projects).
Open System Firmware
To create and deploy, at scale, open source hardware initialization and OS loader firmware optimized for web-scale cloud hardware, including documentation, testing, continuous integration and other artifacts that aid the development, deployment, operation or adoption of the open source project.
Rack & Power
All mechanical and power related topics and standards that impact OCP contributed architectures (OpenRack, CG-OpenRack-19, Project Olympus, 12VDC & 48VDC power shelfs, and battery backup systems).
Harmonization efforts for Cold Plate, Immersion, and RDX solutions and product standards for optimized hardware.
Working with root of trust features, integration of Project Cerebus (Microsoft) and Project Titan into one open solution.
All server and compute node hardware for OpenRack, CG-OpenRack-19, Olympus, and mezzanine cards. This project also covers GPU and FPGA accelerator products & common interfaces.
Storage appliances and new API standards for efficient cloud storage, including archival storage harmonization efforts.
Advancement of archival storage, including needed harmonization of specs
Open sourced carrier and cable provider products (e.g. disaggregated access, CPE, passive optical networking). Also covers collaboration work and opportunities with other organizations such as TIP, CORD, & ONL.
Harmonization of requirements for the deployment of cloud functions at access points (IOT, cellular, residential & commercial gateways, etc.) that are outside of the traditional data centers. Locations could be either outdoor and indoor.

Criteria for Engineering Workshop Session Presentations
* If your organization has already presented a concept or a specification to the project community AND has been approved by the project leaders as being relevant to the broader open community, you may present such a concept or specification at the OCP Engineering workshop.
* If your product is based on an approved OCP specification and you are seeking product recognition, you may present your product details at the OCP Engineering workshop.
* If your organization is launching an architecture based on OCP products, testing software on OCP products, or developing a tool to support OCP product, you may present such findings at the OCP Engineering workshop.
* If your organization has adopted OCP solutions in your infrastructure, you may present such findings at the OCP Engineering workshop.
* If the current project community is discussing ongoing work streams and you have additional information in support of these work streams and the data is open for discussion, you may present such findings at the OCP Engineering workshop.
