this patch breaks RS64 systems:

http://penguinppc.org/~olaf/rs64-breakage/ contains a series of patches,
'quilt push 19' will give a still working kernel, apply 2 more patches
and it hangs. I should probably look at the 'Pre-POWER4' bits mentionend
in the commit message.
