No, this is unfortunately a case of least suprise and backwrd
compatibility. Eventually, hopefully, this stuff will migrate to sysfs,
but that requires that I do the code that makes the virtual drivers use
the new driver infrastructure - and that is in train i.e. I am trying to
understand the doco :-)
