modprobe error messages on console

So, I have my development board up, and am trying to
build some apps and get disk working, running fdisk
emits the block device error, while attempting to
build emacs and then run it emacs the binfmt-eedb
error ...

How does one compile the below drivers into the kernel?


modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module binfmt-eedb
modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module block-major-3
