Ok, good. I've already started doing the consolidation work, taking
your patch and merging the code from platforms/cell into it.
This undoes part of Geoff's previous patch to make a clearer abstraction
between the platforms, but I think it's better to just consider
celleb and native as the common case here and have ps3 as the exception.
This code is entirely untested, I would normally have waited with sending
it out before I have verified that it does the right thing, but I want
to avoid you duplicating that work.
Please try it out and see what you can do to make it work on celleb.
