gcc 3.2 passes only -mppc, so all altive instructions will fail to
compile without either -many or -maltivec

I have tested this patch with
gcc 3.2.3 + binutils-2.15.91.0.1
gcc 3.3.4 + binutils-2.15.91.0.1
gcc 3.4.1 + binutils-2.15.91.0.1
gcc 3.2.3 + binutils-2.15
