Status of OPTi 82C861

Does somebody know the status of the development
status for the workaround for the bug of this USB
controller since 2.4.20-ben9?

Otherwise, If I want to give it a shot, on which
source shoud I work? 2.4.20-ben9 or 2.5.??

I heard that the ohci code is about to be completely
rewritten. I just want to make sure not to work in
obsolete code.
