I do not know if the problem is the same, but since kernel 2.6.29, my 
wireless keyboard/mouse set (Logitech Deluxe 650) with USB receiver is 
not recognized by my PS3's.

Using a really standard wired keyboard, it works.

I guess you should try another keyboard and see if it is recognized.
