[Cbe-oss-dev] Cannot power-off/shutdown/halt, hangs instead

Blimey! Nailed it. I just rebuilt that kernel again this time I set
CONFIG_FB_PS3_SIZE=9 instead of 18. Wasn't hoping for much but this had
a big effect - suddenly the graphical bootloader (usplash) was in colour
and not corrupted, and ... shutting down and rebooting works! Brilliant,
hope there's a few more as easy as this :)
