You need to get the mkinitrd SRPM from any Fedora mirror site, then  
install it with rpm -i (which will just put the corresponding files  
in /usr/src/redhat).  Then... well, I can't remember very well of the  
top of my head how to recreate the final RPM.

But, to make things simple, copy the redhat/SOURCES/whatever.tar.gz  
file into your home directory, unpack it, apply the patch from the  
bug report, rebuild it and then install the final nash into /sbin.

(If you want to do it right, try to use the rpmbuild command.  This  
is fairly easy, but what I can't remember is how to apply in the  
middle of the build process unless you recreate the .tar.gz with the  
patch in it.  Otherwise I can be able to provide you a good RPM when  
I get home this evening, assuming I still have it.)
