The patches at

are patches to the openwrt sources.

Included in the patches are patches for the openwrt 'trunk' and 'packages'
The only sources you need to grab are the openwrt 'trunk' and 'packages'.

The openwrt build will grab the package sources (petitboot sources) from the appropriate location for you, and also apply the necessary patches for the packages.

So in short, all you need to do is download openwrt sources, apply the patches to it, and build.
