There is no plan to do this at the moment, and I don't know if it
possible.  I will inquire if it is.  Please feel free to submit 
patches against ps3-linux.git after the sound driver is released.
I will not consider patches against the legacy 2.6.16 kernel.

It is in progress, but not ready to commit yet.  Maybe in a few
weeks.
