My apologies then to the group for bring up just another facet of a known
issue. I did not recognize it as such because of the way rebooting appears
to be working, unlike halting the system which obviously hangs. Thanks
again Geert for the quick responses, I'll wait to see if the problem is
resolved in later builds.

So it's the `console doesn't reboot or shutdown properly' problem, which
we're
working on.
