cygnus java compiler & ppc

hi...

i've been trying to get the cygnus java compiler to work. it's really
cool--using .java *or* .class files as source it generates native code,
with or without runtime safety measures like bounds checking. it links
very cleanly with c++ and can be debugged in mixed language environments.

well that's how it's supposed to work. on ppc, programs generated by gcj
crash immediately. so... if anyone else is interested in looking at it,
see my software page and get fsirl's gcc 2.95.1.
