Hi I'm not sure that kboot not being included in Debian images is the 
problem as you can still use the official Debian images to install Debian on 
the PS3. All that is needed is to have the vmlinux file from the addon CD on 
external storage media like a USB stick or memory stick and do sdx:(where 
"x" is the location of the media containing the vmlinux file)/vmlinux 
initrd=/install/powerpc/initrd.gz For example, if I have a Micro SD card and 
it has the vmlinux file, I would do sdb:/vmlinux 
initrd=/install/powerpc/initrd.gz to stat the Debian installer on the PS3. I 
belive that Fedora does not have the kboot bootloader in it's images but I 
believe that it still works out the box. I am not sure of this as I have not 
tested if this is so. I think the vmlinux in the Debian images need to be 
adjusted somehow in order for it to insall on the PS3 out of the box. Also 
with the release candadate 1 of the  Debian installer, I think it is now 
possible to install Debian using only a memory stick or USB stick by 
downloading the initrd.gz file from the Debian release candidate installer 
page along with the mini.iso file and the vmlinux file from the add on CD 
and putting all three files on the USB or memory stick. The command to 
install from USB or memory stick is a bit different. To install from USB or 
memory stick at kboot, do sdb:/vmlinux initrd=sdb:/initrd.gz On my system, 
sdb is where my Micro SD card is and sdd1 is where my USB is.
